Earlier this summer Important Looking Pirates delivered a stunning digital portray of the Swedish country side for the Zaragoza World’s Fair. The film is a six minute long 360 degree view of a dynamic transforming landscape that takes us through the four seasons, from dusk till dawn. The work was based on a still photo of a typical swedish landscape that we used as foundation and turned into 10K matte paintings, on which we added animated rain, snow, leafs and CG water.
105 countries participated in the fair. In the 650 square meter Swedish section, you could find a big set with 84 Swedish birches and a designed glulam tree house. This set was then encapsulated by a big circular screen where 16 projectors where used to display our digital landscape.
