Foundation S2
Foundation circles mainly around the characters of Gaal and Hari Seldo and includes significant time jumps and space travel with season two set more than a century after the season one finale, as well as alien worlds and scenery.
2021
For the second season of Foundation ILP revisited the water planet Synnax to help Gaal and Salvor escape a mega storm and skyscraper high tidal waves. We gave the spaceship Beggars Lament a major look overhaul, created CG ocean environment set extensions and major full CG shots featuring complex water and atmospherics simulations to create a highly detailed and believable world.
Successfully having escaped Synnax our heroes find themselves travelling to planet Ignis, here we created shots approaching the planet including the reentry phase into its atmosphere. To round it all off we crashed the Beggars Lament into a full CG forest environment utilising extensive simulations of breaking trees and displacing earth and debris to sell the massive impact.
Visualising the implosion of Terminus and its aftermath seen from space was another major sequence we worked on, this beautiful and epic destruction of the planet being eaten up by a singularity was achieved by a combination of simulation heavy FX and careful shot design to support the story telling.
